TEDx: Ideas worth spreading
TEDxKraków is part of the global TED community, known for its powerful talks about “ideas worth spreading”. TEDx are independently-organized TED-like events around the world meant to inspire conversation, prompt innovation and create connections.
It’s a suite of short, carefully prepared talks, demonstrations and performances that are idea-focused, and cover a wide range of subjects to foster learning, inspiration and wonder – and to provoke conversations that matter.
TEDx events are organized by volunteers from the local community. They are devoted to changing the world through events centred on ideas important to their community, and the world at large.
Over 4500 events have happened all over the world since the launch of the program in March 2009.
Reconnect the dots
This year’s event takes place on Saturday, June 13th in the ICE Krakow Congress Centre. More than 1000 participants are expected to listen to 15 engaging speeches about different topics.
The motto of TEDxKraków – “Reconnect the dots” – is inspired by the world around us and the constant changes we experience. According to the organizers the concept of “local” no longer is associated with a particular place or point in space and the same trends can be seen in different locations. “Reconnect the dots” refers to different initiatives that open our eyes to new perspectives and allow us to get new answers to old questions.
During this TEDxKraków the organizers want to answer the question of engagement in local initiatives and changes taking place near us.
