ABOUT THE TEAM
The Ads Insights & Targeting team, part of Schibsted’s Ad Engineering unit, is responsible for critical systems that empower advertisers through data-driven insights and targeting capabilities.
We are a team of Software Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and an Engineering Manager who work closely with a Product Manager.
Our team is divided into streams, and you will be part of the Insights Stream. You will be responsible for building methods and algorithms to analyse advertising performance, such as calculating campaign reach, gender and age distribution, and other key metrics.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a part of the Insights Stream inside Ads Insights & Targeting, your responsibilities will include:
- Developing complex data products to assess the effectiveness of marketing campaigns
- Building and maintaining ETL pipelines which process billions of records
- Maintaining and enhancing the existing AWS infrastructure
- Deploying and monitoring data products in production
ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for a full stack Data Scientist who can work with large datasets and collaborate effectively with the team. If you check most of these boxes, we’d love to hear from you:
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Scientist
- Practical experience with data exploration and a solid understanding of statistics fundaments
- Strong Python programming skills and familiarity with testing best practices (unit, integration, end-to-end)
- Experience with processing large datasets, using Spark
- Hands-on with ETL pipelines and data processing workflows
- Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS)
- Comfortable with version control (e.g., Git) and deploying data products in production
- Experience with Tableau (or another BI tool) for visualising insights
- Strong problem-solving skills – you take initiative and think critically
- Ownership mindset – you take responsibility for your work and align with teams & stakeholders
- Great communicator – you value open discussions, give and receive feedback, and enjoy teamwork
- Bonus points: Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Airflow, Scala, or MLOps concepts
- Communicative Polish and English

WHAT ABOUT MACHINE LEARNING
You don’t need to understand ML to excel in this role. We currently do not have ML models in production, but we are open to machine learning if it suits the problem at hand. If you spot an opportunity where ML can add value, you will have the freedom to explore and suggest solutions.
WAY OF WORKING
We work in a hybrid arrangement and would like to meet you at our office in Kraków one or two days per week. This arrangement allows for collaboration and meaningful connections with the team. However, if you’re not a working-from-home person, you are welcome to visit our office daily!
