It was Thursday, November 27th, 2014. For the sixth time Schibsted Tech Polska organized a Hack Day in our offices. All regular work was put aside. Instead the programmers organized in teams spent the whole day intensively coding.
The deadline was strict. At exactly 5 PM the presentations started. By then all the teams had to have a product up and running. And it should be something out of the ordinary. Innovative. Fun. Useful.
The results were presented with lots of humor and laughter. And than we voted for the winners.
This year´s Hack Day included 15 projects such as Mobile Desk Controller, FitMan, Quality Meerkat, Browser Spy, Calcium App and Internal Schibsted Library.

Hack Day project number 1: Mobile Desk Controller by Michał Waśniewski, Szymon Skórczyński
All desks in Schibsted Tech Polska offices are electrically operated, so they can be moved up or down. Why not to use them with your mobile phone?
Hack Day project number 2: Instamac – easy mac os x provisioning by Mateusz Kwaśniewski
Imagine this is your 1st day as developer in Schibsted Tech Polska. You get your Mac and need to upload many programs. With this script you need to press one button only and your Mac is ready to work for you.
Hack Day project number 3: NoiseDetector by Jakub Garczyński, Łukasz Żak
Open space can be loud from time to time. Why not localise the source of noise and solve the issue yourself? With this application the communication becomes much easier.
